SBOA is introducing the XSEED Curriculum in the 1st Standard this year.

As per XSEED, this Curriculum design is led by alumni of Harvard, Cambridge, IIM, and IIT, the team of 250+ professionals consists of former principals, education experts and child psychologists with strong competencies in curriculum design, professional development and assessment.

XSEED sheds more light on it's curriculum by saying.....

"At the heart of XSEED is the belief that learning is a cycle based on experience, analysis, action and reflection as compared to telling which is one-step. XSEED is thus designed around the 5-Step Experiential Learning Method that replaces the one-step ‘Telling’ approach.

XSEED scientifically tracks student and school performance. Schools using XSEED have reported 2-3 times improvement in academic performance in pilot studies."

As a parent I've seen the videos and the books and I think it is definitely a huge leap in the way content is delivered to kids. There is some scope for improvement in the recording department, though. 

XSEED is right now the best in its category for delivering this kind of content for this age group. Everything academic that kids want clearly explained is right here in an absolutely child friendly format.

    Thanks for sharing this post.The age for admission must be in accordance with the statutory regulations of the Board of Education.Once admission has been granted and the fees remitted, it will not be refunded, under any circumstances.Fees for the same will be collected for the whole year in the month of June.List of schools in Chennai

SBOA School Bus and Transport alternatives

The School bus facility at SBOA School and Junior College is for students of class LKG to class 5. The fee for the bus ranges from Rs.1800 to Rs.2300 per term depending on the distance travelled. The school bus picks up students from a point on the route closest to the students residence and drops them back at the same point. If the parent is not around to receive the child, the child is taken back to the school and the parents have to arrange to collect their wards from the school. The other option available is to send them via private vans. This is definitely more convenient as the pick up and drop are usually at your doorstep or closer than the school bus drop point and they usually wait for a few extra Min's. The biggest drawback is that all the operators use Mahindra vans(The green boxy ones) and they are not very comfortable. With my kids moving on to classes where Olympiads are becoming increasingly more complicated and competitive. There are four exams that can be taken NCO - National Computer Olympiad NSO - National Science Olympiad IMO - International Math Olympiad IEO - International English Olympiad For the dates on which these exams are conducted and the classes eligible please refer to their website below http://www.sofworld.org / The site provides sample questions, training apps, previous years question papers, links to stores selling practise books, etc. We took the exams for the last two years and was an eye opener. I would call it useful for the below reasons... It trains the kids to get accustomed to the competitive exam papers patterns that most college entrances have. It gives them limited time to finish the paper. Teaches them to get comfortable with answer shading on a computerized answer sheet. The best is the accurate feedback given. The feedback highlights...

LKG Admissions @ SBOA School and Junior College 2012 - 2013

I'm putting my second child in SBOA this year, and the first round of admissions are in progress. My! the fees have gone up this year, but looking at the other schools, including Matric schools, SBOA has managed to keep the fees lower than the city average. The admission process was smooth and quick. We finished meeting the Principal in about 30mins from the time we got there. All that's left is, to pay the fees and start the joining formalities. I'm glad that my kid got in, as I already have another child studying in 1st Std in SBOA. She enjoys going to school. At 50 kids a class, it is a crowd but their systematic way of doing things more than makes up for it.
